The Journal Of Astronomical Instrumentation is an international peer-reviewed academic journal dedicated to advancing the development and innovation of astronomical observation techniques. The journal focuses not only on instruments that have already been built and put into use, but also on those that are still in the concept, design, development, or construction stages. It provides a platform for researchers and engineers to share their latest advances and experiences in the design, manufacture and application of astronomical instruments.
The journal covers all wavelengths from radio to gamma rays, including but not limited to optical, infrared, ultraviolet, X-ray and radio astronomy instruments. In addition, it covers research in the fields of solar physics, space weather, lunar and planetary science, exoplanet detection, and high-energy celestial particle observation. These studies may involve different observation platforms such as ground-based observatories, stratospheric aircraft, balloons, suborbital rockets, space telescopes, and planetary landers and probes.
